The Mission of The Miami Shakespeare Festival is to promote literacy and appreciation of the arts through free performances of the work of William Shakespeare in our parks.

Our secondary goals include involving actors of all ages and skill level to participate in the arts by acting, dancing, singing and swordfighting in our plays.

By providing this training and these performances we hope to encourage a new generation of people who participate in our city's cultural life, or support it by attending the work of local artists.

The cost of a family attending a cultural event together has become prohibitively expensive. FREE Shakespeare in the Park encourages families to gather a picnic, spread their blankets under the stars and spend an evening together laughing and crying with the characters of Shakespeare's beloved plays.
